I'm a big believer that there really aren't a lot of NECESSITIES when it comes to baby gear. There are a lot of luxuries, but there isn't much you absolutely have to have. I'll list a few things we found made our lives happier :)

| A really good twin nursing boppy is a must! Get TWO of them, so you have them in different rooms in the house, and one for travel. We got ours on craigslist for $20. I've seen them at Kid to Kid for less. They're about $60 retail, and totally worth it. The way they support two babies while nursing is just amazing. However, it should only be used once babies' have a good latch. If they're latching poorly, this football position might not be best. The Laid-Back position with one or both babies is definitely worth trying. |

If you happen to have another child close in age to your twins, this triple jogging stroller is AWESOME! I bought it off Ebay. It has swivel wheels, which are THE MOST important factor in a good stroller - jogging or not! But the swivel also LOCK for running! This is my husband pushing all three kids in a 5K. His shirt says "Daddy-O of Twins." I bought it from cafepress.com - they have lots of great designs for twin-related shirts. Perfect for gifts! Like this:
DIAPERING: After my first child, I planned to do cloth diapering for our second. Then I found out we were having twins, and totally threw that idea out the window! Instead I focused during my pregnancy on finding GREAT deals on disposable diapers, and stocking up. Before the babies were born, I had about 2,000 diapers size N-3 ready to go! My price point was 14 cents/diaper - but most I got around 11 cents/diaper. I just paid attention to deals through Pinching Your Pennies, Amazon, and other deal-finding sites. I wasn't picky on brands at all. For the first few months, we were going through about 20 diapers/day. We haven't started any kind of potty training yet. I'm waiting until they're at least two - even though I started training with my first daughter at 18 months. To be honest - I'm nervous for potty training twins!! I'll update this blog when we get through that adventure :) |

AhhhhhHHHHHHHAHHAHHAAHHhhh ! I have no idea what this thing is - but if you find it - you MUST get it! I would've LOVED having it! SO FUN! And it wouldn't draw attention to you at all....

| I thought about getting this shirt for Brian. Instead I got him the "Daddy-O of Twins" shirt. This one would've been funnier, but just seemed a little arrogant. I didn't want all the guys who just had singletons to feel bad, ya know.... =) |

| WOW - love this! So creative and fun. Great for eating and playing! Easier to clean maybe? I don't know. I never had it, I just came across this and had to share. WE had two big highchairs that took up a lot of space and got really messy. NOT creative and fun. But it worked! |

SO COOL! This attachment would've been fun for Brianna. If she was willing to sit in it. She's four. You never know what she'll be happy and excited about, and what she'll instantly turn down flat. With a tantrum.

I have no idea if this contraption would be comfortable, but I love it! Totally wish I had had it. You should buy it. But only when your babies are older - like 8+ mo, because this position wouldn't be healthy for infants AT ALL!
I'll stop throwing out random "gear" ideas now :) Really, you don't NEED hardly anything. Just two arms, two boobs, and lots of patience! |
