Twin Preg

BABY SHOWERS!  I had THREE of them with this pregnancy!
So fun! I got very spoiled.  But I don't regret it.
If anyone wants to throw you a shower - LET THEM!
Because once those babies have been around a few
months, years.... no one's going to be offering help
and presents. Take advantage while you can!!
I was very blessed and fortunate to have a relatively smooth pregnancy. I really never had any major problems. No bed rest at all. Went full term. Gained 38 pounds. Went running every day.
17 weeks.  Pardon the partial nudity.
I guess I lost all sense of modesty with all those
violating OB checkups and anticipating the hospital birth scene.
I focused on having a very healthy diet - high protein being the big goal. I also tried to drink as much water as I could handle (especially with a SUMMER pregnancy in Southern Utah! UGH!) I even started drinking skim milk, which I had never done before and haven't done since - just for the extra protein source.
20 weeks. I think. I didn't keep track well or take pictures
on a regularly basis - just whenever I felt like it
or remembered or had just come home from a run :)
I was a SAHM mom of a busy two year old, with my husband gone 70+hrs/week. So I went to most of my OB appts alone with my toddler - which made the appts short, because I wanted to get out fast!

Being that it was summertime, I got really swollen (or fat?  Some combo of fat and swollen :)   I had to take my wedding ring off in May (babies were born in August), and didn't get to put it back on til October.
Near the end - especially the last week - I had a tough time sleeping. I would wake up with my hands all tingly, and burning.  I would ask my husband for ice packs, or go stick my hands in the freezer.  Never figure out the explanation for that weird side effect.

But I know many mothers of twins have to go on bedrest and have much more physical problems than this.  But I'm here to say - it doesn't have to happen!  Some people sail through twin pregnancies - so there's hope! :)
